Hi all! Welcome to “Back to School” month for many of us! I hope you were able to squeeze in a wonderful Fall Collection 2019 Trunk Show before school season began! We are in our last week of shows, however, ordering doesn’t end until August 30th!
You can continue to order and shop online ~ just call us at (205) 871-6362 or email us at customerservice@hannahkateclothing.com. By this time in our fall season we may have fabrics that are sold out, so be sure to have some second options ready to consider.
As I allow my memory to rewind just a bit, I think I could make a list…
Two weeks down with school.
Two in cross-country.
Two playing football.
Three running for student council positions.
One middle school dance enjoyed, and best dancer cash prize received.
60 lunches made and packed, and sweet “love you” notes included.
Eight 2nd grade books read.
Two meetings with school counseling.
Two physicals.
Three sports insurance applications.
12 braids done before 7 am.
One day late picking up.
One morning late arriving.
Three dinners after 8 pm.
240 water bottles drunk.
38 papers I put my signature on.
9 loads of laundry done.
One call from a principal.
Two schedules changed.
Three cross-country practices in 106 degrees.
One first-string quarterback about to play his first game this weekend! Never played QB ’til training this summer!
Ten mornings up before 6:30 am.
Only one child wore the same outfit two days in a row before I noticed.
Only one sore throat reported.
Only one emotional break down by one daughter.
One girl who tried out for cheerleading, made the team, and then reported back after day two that she had no problem doing the motions and dances but she COULDN’T for the world get herself to vocalize the words because they were just “too stupid” for her mouth to say! So she quit and joined sports medicine, will travel with the football team and be involved ON the field where she has always wanted to be anyway! Oh my.
One who declares she has two boyfriends, but one is not “serious.”
One became an office aid.
One is taking calculus as a sophomore and all honors courses, while another looks at me and guesses at every single word she’s supposed to read! And spells her – “hur” and ball – “boll” and asked me last night, “Mom, what rhymes with husband…oh wait, is that trigger-some? I’m so sorry! How about what rhymes with strife?”
“Wife!”
Huge achievement: no one went to school barefoot that I know of.
Whether you public school, private school, classical school, home school, day school, night school, un-school — whether you feel emotions about the first day of your firstborn starting, or the last year of your lastborn starting their last year, you have a loving mama’s heart that wants the best it knows for the loves of your life. Live in these moments, take one at a time, and remember it flies by. Breathe deep, don’t worry, and hug all you can.
We are cheering for you!
Alyssa
